Youth Activities

Sheana Fraser was last year’s Convener. At the recent AGM she reported that in the previous session the Committee has organised Mock Interviews, the Young Chef Competition, sponsored a euroscolar candidate and  assumed responsibility for our Club’s support of the Lochaber Music Festival.

Activities that are still in progress are the essay competition, the endeavour awards and the poetry competition.

 

Total costs for the work of the committee this year have reached £2,154 to date.

Various fund raising ventures have been: the coin painting at the Lochaber Games, two swishing parties, the Christmas Craft and Food Fair and the “Casino Royale” evening. Alcan UK partly sponsored the Young Chef Competition.

 

A net total of £2399 has been raised by the committee with the balance to Club Funds.

David Thomson is this year’s convener with Paula Dale as his vice convener. His committee is: John Harvey; David Robertson; Ken Johnston; Duncan Gillies; Peter Hamling; Rod Johnston; and Terry Lee.

 

The committee has met and will be presenting their programme for next year to the Club Assembly on 16th June.
