Thank you from Maggie’s

Dear Andrew, David, John H, Alan, Ron, Donald, John D, Angus, Chris, Paul, David Mac & Rod

A huge thank you for volunteering at Maggie’s Monster Bike & Hike over the weekend.  We are absolutely delighted with how well the event went and what a great success for Maggie’s.

We are very grateful for the time and effort that you put into the event and we honestly couldn’t have done it without you.

We have raised almost £200,000 so far with more to come in so we’re on our way to reaching our target of just over £500,000.  The income raised from Monster is vital as it could keep one of our centres running for over a year allowing anyone affected by cancer to receive practical, emotional and psychological support.

I am currently putting together a feedback form that I will send to you next week as it would be a great help to receive your thoughts and feedback on the event.  We are always looking for ways to improve on the event and our volunteers’ experience at Monster so would value your feedback.

If you would like to see pictures of the event please visit our Flicker site (photo’s are currently being added) and if you took any on the day please do send them on as we would love to see them.

We have a few volunteer t-shirts left over so if you didn’t get one on the day or would like an extra one I would be happy to pop one in the post to you.

Thank you again for all your hard work and dedication.  We hope to have you there again next year!

Best wishes

Rachel

Below are the pictures of the winning teams at the recent Am Am Golf Tournament which the Club hosted. All proceeds went to the charity fund.

Thanks to all participants, sponsors and all who helped.

New District Governor, Roberta Gaitan, from the Rotary Club of Erskine & District, visited our Club on 13th July.

She said that she was looking forward to her new role and that she and her District team would be working hard to support all the clubs in District 1230 with their various community and international projects designed to reflect the 2011-12 Rotary theme of 'Reach within to Embrace Humanity'.

Crocus bulbs:

The Foundation & International Committee is selling Ruby Giant Thomasina crocus bulbs again this year to raise funds for the eradication of polio.

The wholesale cost has doubled but we are still selling them at a very competitive price i.e. £6.50 per hundred bulbs.

Orders to be placed with Robbie Robertson as soon as possible.
