Caroline and Duncan Speirs who established Calum’s Cabin on the Isle of Bute following the death of their own son recently received a cheque for £750 from President Angus Nicolson on behalf of the Rotary Club of Lochaber. Calum’s Cabin is a purpose built retreat for children suffering from cancer and their family. For more information visit www.calumscabin.com

The average attendance for the last quarter was only 78% - room for improvement! (Yes the web master was the third worse in the Club)

Am Am Golf On Sunday 30th May our annual golf competition was held at Fort William Golf Club. Twenty eight teams participated. Thanks to all the golfers who participated and thanks also to our sponsors. Income for the charity fund is in the region of £3,300 to date.
Environment Day Saturday 29th May was Environment Day and a team of nineteen Rotarians picked up rubbish from various locations. A total of sixty eight bags of rubbish were collected. Well done to everyone involved.
Baking Stall The recent baking stall raised £1,000 which will be donated to Mary’s Meals. This is a charity which provides daily meals in schools for over 400,000 children in Africa, Asia Latin America and Eastern Europe. The baking stall was run totally by the "Alex Angels". Thank you ladies. |
