The Rotary Club of Lochaber

International & Foundation Committee

This year we sent four Shelter Boxes—two to Haiti, one to the Tsunami Appeal and one to Shelter Box for immediate deliver wherever the next tragedy occurs.

The Committee organised a limited edition bottle of whisky to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the Club with a raffle to win the number one bottle. This raffle raised a further £360 towards the $Million Challenge giving us a total of £796.22 which exceeded the target set. The profits from the sale of the whisky will go to our benevolent fund. Special thanks to Andrew Bootman for producing the labels.

Thirty six Christmas puddings were sold to raise funds to clear land mines in Cambodia, Croatia and Kosovo and twenty three packs of Christmas Cards were sold for foundation funds.

In September the Committee organised Group exchange study for a team from New Zealand.

Sheana Fraser is this year’s convener with John Doherty as her Vice Convener.

Her committee members are: George Bruce; Finlay Finlayson; Robbie Robertson; David MacFarlane; Ron Gretton; Charles Moore; Hiresh Roy; Angus MacIver; and Jim Sutherland.

The committee has met and will be presenting their programme for next year to the Club Assembly on 16th June.
