Gracious and Loving God, 

 

 It is your joy to call men and women to serve you in love and in faith.  Give them the strength and courage to satisfy their longing to make known the good news of Christ.

 

Bless all who are called along the humble road to serve and support and to lead others in your work.  As the Presbytery meets and embarks on a new year of church business, we call upon you to be with them in all their discussions, deliberations, and decisions. 

 

Lord, we pray that you will watch over us and guide us through the difficult and challenging times ahead, and may your wisdom enlighten our minds by the power of the Holy Spirit.  These things we ask in the name of Jesus Christ your Son and our Saviour.

Amen.

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is a Christian organisation bringing physical care and spiritual hope to people in remote areas in developing countries.  We fly small planes to provide essential help where roads do not go.

Our logo is: Flying for Life.

Where we operate, flight is an essential, not a luxury.

 

In October of each year we encourage churches to hold a Day of Prayer for MAF one day during the month and I wonder if you could consider this with your congregations.

 

A new resource pack has been produced for this year.  The pack is usually good and useful, including prayers and ideas suitable for children, for young people and for adults. There is a DVD, part of which this year is a short film about the work of MAF in Tanzania in partnership with Chimala Brandt Mission.

 

Informative leaflets and/or bookmarks are also available to give to each person who attends worship on that day.

 

If you would like to have the resource pack, you can go directly onto our website:  www.maf-uk.org/dayofprayer to request one; this way you can easily obtain sufficient leaflets by specifying the approximate numbers you expect to be present.  Otherwise, I can order the pack for you, if you prefer that.
