Welcome to the web site of the Church of Scotland Presbytery of Lochaber. We are part of the Church of Scotland ,which is the national Church in Scotland. We are a very small Presbytery of only eight charges based in Lochaber in the West Highlands of Scotland. Our Presbytery is centred around Fort William, which is dominated by the Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. Tourism is the main activity in our area with skiing in winter, walking and cycling all year round. If you require any information about the Presbytery, or about Lochaber, contact us by emailing David at kirk@mirlos.co.uk The charge of Ardgour, Morvern and Strontian now have their own web site. “The role of presbytery in the national church is to · Encourage worship, ministry and mission in the presbytery area; · Strengthen and support local congregations and their ministries; · Provide oversight of congregations, ministers and elders.” Report of the Panel on Review and Reform to the 2010 General Assembly.
The book sale organised by Bill & Alma Strachan in their front garden at Tighphuirt, raised £408.30. The money will go to help the orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania. A big thank you to all who made the sale the success it was. |
